Privacy Policy

GA Pilot Log is made by Aerial Vision Australia Pty Ltd, trading as Gardner Avionics ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the GA Pilot Log app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch.

In short: we don't collect your data. There's no account to create, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Your logbook stays on your devices and in storage you control.

Your logbook

Your flights, aircraft, people, signatures, photos and settings are stored on your device. We don't run a server that holds your logbook, and we can't see it.

• iCloud sync. If you're signed in to iCloud, your logbook syncs between your own devices through your private iCloud database. Apple stores this data under your Apple Account, and we can't access it. Apple's privacy policy applies.
• Files you export. Logbook PDFs and other files you export go only where you choose to save or share them.

Location

Go Fly uses your iPhone's location only while you're recording a flight. It logs where the flight starts and stops and the path flown, and watches your ground speed so it can remind you to stop recording after landing. Location stops when you tap Stop.

"Always" access is optional. It lets you start a recording from your Apple Watch while your iPhone is locked. The flight path is saved with the flight in your logbook, and it's handled the same way as the rest of your logbook (see above). We never receive it.

Apple Watch

The Watch app starts and stops Go Fly on your iPhone and shows its progress. It talks only to your own iPhone.

Notifications and alarms

The app uses notifications and alarms on your devices to remind you to stop a flight recording. They're created on your device, and nothing is sent to us.

Information we do receive

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.

If you've chosen to share analytics with developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don't identify you.

Deleting your data

You can delete flights and other records in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. To remove the iCloud copy, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud › Manage Storage, and delete GA Pilot Log's data.

Children

The app isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. If a future version of the app starts sending any data off your device, for example to read paper logbook pages, we'll describe it here before that version is released.
